We have helped a Medical Device Company develop their new data acquisition design.
Their device used an ECG and Tonometer. It was to connect to a PC through USB, and be USB Bus Powered.

- A system level design proposal for 60601 and EC13 compliance
- Low Voltage Single Supply ECG circuit that was compliant with EC13 as required by the client
- The ECG included patient safety resistors and protection from ESD
- Adaptive high pass filter for ECG (under software control)
- Low Voltage Single Supply Tonometer (strain gauge bridge) amplifier with accurate zero
- Design for opto coupler data interface that achieved 60601 compliance
- Sourced the DC-DC Power Supplies that were 60601 compliant
- A power supply management scheme for operation on USB bus power
- Low
level hardware interface firmware for an ARM7, including all serial
buffers, A-D sampling handling, and framework for digital filtering (we
used a combination of notch and low pass filters)
- PCB layout on Protel
